Manchester, NH

This is the third year I’ve done this race, also the third year they have done it.

It’s my “do not miss” race because TA is the race director and how do you not support a friend? Also because it’s the first time I got a sub 30. He says it’s a fast course (and stupid me believed him the first year when I decided to go for a sub 30. Had I known he was full of shit, I wouldn’t even have attempted a PR 😜)

My original plan was to make this my fall PR attempt for a 5K again, but the race date was the day before the Baystate Marathon. Had this been anyone else’s race I wouldn’t have done it, so I decided to just use it as an easy shakeout run before Baystate.

And when you have awesome people running it too it’s a lot more fun πŸ™‚ It’s a semi hilly course. There’s 4 hills I think and they aren’t super easy hills. They are long and one is a double hill. There are nice downhills though and I like the course.

I don’t really have a whole lot to say. Met up with the girls at the race. Hung out for a bit. No warmup bc it was an easy paced run. Totally forgot to start my watch for a half a mile. I turned it to run, but never hit start. That is becoming a theme 😳

Took it nice and steady. Walked one hill because I was working a little harder than I wanted to be, but ran the rest of it. Actually paced off a fellow SRTT member which worked out great! Finished in 34:44 so yes I definitely took it nice and easy.

This race also has really good swag so just another perk haha.

They had a post race party at Great North Ale works which was really good. I was pretty pleased to say I have now tried every beer on the menu except for one πŸ˜‰ just hung out chit chatting with everyone. Who doesn’t drink a beer the day before their first marathon 😜😜 carb loading obviously. We joked about how they had nicer bibs and shirts than the marathon.

That’s about it. I definitely think everyone should run this race because why not???
